Trina Hawkins

Trina Hawkins is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in Gerontology and Adult medicine, with more than 20 years of experience.  After a long career in Law Enforcement and Corrections, she decided to change her career to medicine.  She began her medical career as a floor nurse in a surgical step-down unit in Houston, Texas before transferring to John Hopkins Ortho surgery in Baltimore while continuing her education. Trina graduated from the University of Texas-Houston in the world renowned Houston Medical Center.

After completing the Nurse Practitioner’s program, she has had many titles to include Clinical Liaison for Home Health, Clinical manager for Family Medical practice, Nurse Practitioner for Nuclear Cardiology, Hyperbaric Medicine, Wound care and Nursing instructor for LVN, RN and MA students.  She helped to establish and managed Nurse Practitioners assigned to 9 Nursing Homes throughout the Houston area. As owner and operator, she created the Hawk’s Nest, an Adult Day Care in northwest Houston. Within both of these businesses she was responsible for the daily administration, record keeping and operations. She actively assisted with the recruitment and hiring of staff and team creation.

Mrs. Hawkins current certification is APRN in the state of Georgia and Texas. Her past certifications included Wound and Ostomy care, Hyperbaric Medicine, Sports medicine, DOT certification and research in Lymphedema and Elderly care.

Trina’s wealth of medical experience makes her an extremely valuable resource. Her in-depth work experiences give her a comprehensive understanding of the mental and physical issues patients and families face on a daily basis. She is a creative proactive problem solver with the ability to resolve conflict, improve morale and create training programs to improve business operations. She has received numerous awards, letters of appreciations form patients as well as peers and multiple accolades of appraisal.
