Mae Nekoba
Mae is an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner whose journey into healthcare is marked by creativity, resilience, and a passion for service. Born and raised as an Air Force military-dependent on the beautiful island of Okinawa, she brings a diverse and dynamic background to her role, combining experience in both media and medicine.
Professional Background
Mae began her professional path by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts, driven by a love for entertainment and storytelling. While producing her first feature film, her growing interest in healthcare led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to gain extensive experience in various Intensive Care Units, including Neurological, Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, and Trauma ICUs. Fueled by her dedication to advanced patient care, Mae continued her education and completed a Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Her transition to Las Vegas was inspired by a desire to be closer to family and to experience a new environment in which to grow both professionally and personally.
Motivation for Entering Healthcare
Mae’s career shift into healthcare was sparked by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The challenges and intensity of ICU care deepened her commitment to helping patients through some of their most critical moments with skill, compassion, and calm under pressure.
Professional Philosophy
Mae believes that healing is both a science and an art. Her diverse background in media and healthcare allows her to connect with patients on a human level while providing attentive, evidence-based care. She is passionate about creating a supportive, empathetic environment where patients and their families feel seen, heard, and cared for.
Personal Interests
Outside of her professional life, Mae is a devoted single mother and caregiver to her elderly mother. She enjoys singing, cooking, entertaining guests, indulging in all things Disney, and relaxing with some therapeutic Amazon shopping. Her creativity and warmth shine through in everything she does—whether in the clinic or at home.
